Ozone odour removal works differently from a deodorizing spray. A spray adds a scent or coats a surface, while an ozone treatment fills an unoccupied space with activated oxygen (O3), which is used to deodorize and destroy odour-causing pollutants. This matters for cigarette smoke odour removal, because smoke residue can settle into porous materials such as carpet, upholstery, and drywall, well beyond what a spray reaches.

Ozone shock treatment uses high-output generators for treatments that run from 4 to 48 hours in an unoccupied space. People and pets are not present during treatment, because prolonged exposure to higher than normal levels of ozone can cause headaches and respiratory irritation. When the treatment is finished, we remove the equipment, HEPA vacuum the space, and replace the furnace filter.
Maintenance treatments are less intensive. They use the building's HVAC system to distribute the ozone and are completed in under six hours, which makes them a lighter option when an odour is mild or a space needs ongoing upkeep. Because ozone also acts on airborne pollutants such as allergens, bacteria, and VOCs, a treatment can improve more than the smell of a room.
