To ensure an inspection goes smoothly, it helps to be prepared.  Below is a brief list of items to have ready prior to a home or commercial inspection:

• Allow enough time for the inspection.  Typical inspections can take anywhere from 2 to 3.5 hours
• Have keys to any locked doors ready
• Ensure all areas are accessible, including yards, attics, sheds, crawlspaces, basements, garages or other areas
• Clear walkways of snow or other obstructions
• Keep pets in a safe area (crate or somewhere out of the home)
• Allow for unhindered access to furnace, air conditioning unit, water heater, electrical panels, water meter and gas meter.
